Korean Webnovel Portals

As can be seen from the name Web novel, these are novels published on the internet. Like the Korean internet giants Naver and Daum webtoons, they have also taken over. In addition, some webtoon series (e.g. noblesse) web novels are also available.

Another definition of Web novels is the versions of light novels published on the internet in Japan. The difference between Light novels is that the chapters are published on the internet instead of in magazines, and usually the pictures between the pages are Reklam, as in webtoons. In addition, like light novellar, web novellar targets a young readership and there are several pictures in each episode. As with the novels of light, those who make drawings draw professionally or draw young talent. Of course, there is also webnovellar, which does not have any pictures.

Some Webnovel portals:

The way Naver lists web novels is similar to webtoons, but it has a much simpler structure than the webtoon list. I've observed that on Naver, they usually write 2 or 3 episodes a week. A web novel is also supported with Rs drawn according to the stories written. Each Webnovel also has a cover image; this cover image is located in the list of webnovels, at the top of the Webnovel chapter list, and in the upper-right corner of the reading. In addition, instead of" -", the dialogue uses a picture of the character speaking in a small square bubble.

In Honey & Pie, webtoon and webnovels are listed together. From the "Toon" or "Novel" written in the corner of the picture of the series, it is clear whether it is a webtoon or a webnovel.

And in Daum, the structure is even more complicated, and most of them are free with money, and I didn't find any pictures in it.

Update Note: I could change the content of this post with new and up-to-date information. But this article, which I wrote more than 5 years ago, sheds light on Korea's webnovel history. It offers an opportunity to compare to someone who is interested in webnovels (how was it before, how is it now?). So I just corrected the spelling of the article. I also share here a few new Webnovel portal sites that I can find as an extra.
