Definition Of Caricature:

Difference between cartoon and comic:

So how do cartoons and comics separate from each other; The most obvious method of separation is length. It is not right to call it a comic book if it consists of one or more panels, it is either a cartoon or just a normal picture. If 2 is longer than 3 panels, it is a comic book, but depending on the situation, it can also be expressed in a cartoon or comic book. It's like this; for example, there are long humor sequences, it's not wrong to call them comic books. But in our country, these works are called caricature (series), so it makes more sense to say caricature. In the drawing, there is no difference that separates the two precisely. But if we generalize both, there are a few differences in drawing:

1-less detail in cartoons, more in comics.

2-in a cartoon, everything is drawn superficially and metamorphosed with a sense of humor, but in comics, people and objects are drawn as they are or to the thinnest point.

But there's a concept in comic book literature called "cartoonish drawing." If you think about Western comics, Belgian comics such as Red Kit, Ten Ten, Smurfs are a very good example of cartoonish drawing.

What caricature and comics have in common:

Both are art of painting. They both consist of things like bubble, sound effect, panel (not applicable to all cartoons).... It can be extended even further.

In short, there is a very thin line between them, say what you want to say, but what I wrote above is the most basic points to separate. But it's not exactly a consensus.

What Is Cartoonish Drawing?

Cartoonish drawing, as I wrote in its definition at the beginning of the article: "drawings in which some of its characteristics are conspicuously illustrated to give a brief, thought-provoking and concise idea, or often to make you laugh, without delving into the details of a person or an event."
